Who we are
A Sisterhood in sports like no other — building trust, relationships and confidence as our women navigate locker rooms, classrooms and boardrooms.
GALvanize is a growing community of 5,000+ women in all ages and stages of their lives and careers. Founded and led by Laura Okmin, the third-longest tenured sideline reporter in NFL history, GALvanize offers incomparable empowerment for women in sports through bootcamps, workshops, seminars, coaching and mentoring.
Pioneering a human-first approach to reporting and storytelling, for over a decade GALvanize has partnered with NFL teams to help rookies understand WHO they are before a logo defines them. GALvanize’s roster of partners includes Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball teams, USA Hockey, the WNBA, Texas Tech Football, the University of Kansas and the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Laura has covered over 20 Super Bowls and as she prepares to call her fifth-straight Super Bowl for Westwood One Radio alongside Kevin Harlan and Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, she proudly brings a group of seven GALvanize women — for the second year — to cover Super Bowl Week.
For two years the Empower Campaign’s belief in our mission and incredible generosity has made it possible to pay women what they deserve. This year we warmly welcome a new partner, NBC Universal, who are providing invaluable education, support and a nation-wide platform to expand the reach of GALvanize.
GALvanize is always looking to welcome women into our community and grateful to speak with potential partners about how they can help empower and elevate the next generation of diverse voices and storytellers in sports.. Please feel welcome to get in touch.

Please tell us more about your interest in GALvanize!
For the second straight year, GALvanize is empowered by the Empower Campaign, which allows me to pay women their worth. I am eternally grateful for Heather Miller and this life changing relationship.
